What is included in a car service?

Having your car service regularly not only helps your car run smoothly on the road, but helps to prevent unexpected break downs and a hefty bill. How often you get your car serviced would depend on the manufacturer as well as the car mileage and age. Listed below are two of the most common types of car service we do at BP Workshop:

Intermediate Service

We have outlined what you should expect to be done when having an intermediate service:

• Change engine oil
• Check, clean brakes
• Check all lights
• Tyre pressure and condition
• Steering and suspension check
• Cooling system and condition check
• Check and top up all fluids
• Lights, wipers, battery & electrical check
• General check over
• Road test

Full Service

• Change engine oil and filter
• Check, clean and adjust brakes
• Check all lights
• Tyre pressure and condition
• Steering and suspension check
• Cooling system and condition check
• Check and top up all fluids
• Lights, wipers, battery & electrical check
• General check over
• Road test

BP Workshop will also do a general check over of your vehicle and if there is anything else that needs doing the mechanic will give you a call to discuss any additional work that may be required and what the costs are involved and whether you would like to go ahead with the extra work.
