A lot of people ignore brake noises or irregular sounds, but your brakes are one of the most important components of your car. If your brakes aren’t working correctly it could not only cause expensive damage to your car but could potentially cause your car not to stop in an emergency situation.
Brake grinding is always a serious problem and should be dealt with immediately. There are 2 major causes of brake grinding. One of the causes could be from contact of the rotor discs and calipers, basically the brake pads or rotors have worn down so much it is now metal on metal and will cause a grinding sound when pressure on the brake is applied. Another reason why you could be hearing a grinding sound when you apply the brakes is because a foreign object is lodged in the calipers. A foreign object in the brake mechanism can cause expensive damage
Don’t wait for your brakes to make an irregular noise to get them checked, having your car regularly serviced, which involves getting the brakes checked, which will save you money down the track and also ensure your safety when on the road.
